Community Ministries

As we seek to serve our community, we are finding ways to REACH OUT and be the hands and feet of Christ to those in need right around us.

Feed My Sheep

Bethlehem has a commitment to those that are in need of both physical and spiritual food in our neighborhood. This ministry has been a backbone in our attempt to meet the needs of the poor and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Here is how our ministry works:
We answer this need by collecting food on the third Sunday of every month.
Please feel free to bring in as much food as you would like share with others.
Place you donation in the Feed My Sheep box located in the Narthex.

These items are taken to B.E.A.M., Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry at Jacksonville Beach. If you would like to participate, download the flyer, and contact us through the website. This is a great way to help others. Luke 3:11.

Lutherans for Life

Lutherans for Life (LFL) is dedicated to providing help and information in all aspects of “human life”. They handle and discuss real issues facing our society today. Issues like abortion, euthanasia, stem cell research and human cloning. In February, the LFL ministry sponsors a “Baby Drive” to collect items that benefit area crisis pregnancy centers and the women that receive help from them.

Mission House

On the third Friday of every month, a group of members of BLC go to Mission House to make and serve dinner to area homeless in need of a smiling face, and a good, hot meal. All are welcome to be a part of this wonderful outreach, and sign-up sheets are in the Narthex for the upcoming months. Look at you calendar, and then sign-up. You'll be glad you did!

Recycling

The yellow and green bin on campus is for members of BLC and of the community to recycle all of their white paper. This includes: mail, magazines, catalogs, newspapers, and office and school paper. This is a great way to take care of God's creation, and earn money for all of Bethlehem's local and global mission projects. Please spread the word and bring your paper to church today!
