"Rock the Universe" at Universal Studios

Let's not forget to look ahead to the fall family event "Rock the Universe" at Universal Studios, September 5th, 6th and 7th of 2008.  Three great days!  One great weekend together.  Roller coasters, rides and shows by day and Christian concerts by night!  Let's unite with an exciting weekend filled with fun and Christian fellowship!  Watch for more details in the weeks to come.  The cost is $150 per person, which includes travel, hotel, and admission to the park and concerts.  If you've never been, click Rock the Universe to see what you've been missing.  It truly will be a weekend of music and thrills that'll rock your soul.

Wanting to Use Your Talents for the Lord?

Come for a musical audition on Monday, August 18th from 4:30—5:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. We are looking for young people who either play a musical instrument or sing to participate in the Youth Group Praise Band. You do not have to currently be a member of the Youth Group—you just have to want to play music!

Junior High Youth (6th-8th Grade)

SNL—Saturday Nite Live is our once-a-month opportunity to get together for a little faith, a lotta fun, and a wacky event! In March we will have a Mall Scavenger Hunt—stay tuned for more details!

Senior High Youth (9th-12th Grade)

SENIOR HIGH YOUTH GROUP:   It's School...but better...on Sunday! You picked - Revelation!  End times...funky words and symbols...a lot like life!  come learn! (and not just cause your parents make you!)

Senior High Youth Group—  Youth Group is a chance for the high school students of BLC and their friends to gather for an evening of resting in the Gospel - discussing issues relevant to YOUR life, searching the Scriptures for answers! We meet on Wednesdays from 7:00 p.m. ALL HS STUDENTS ARE WELCOME!!

 

 

 

Girl Scouts Of America    

 High school Bible study every Sunday from 9:45 am - 10:45 am starting in the Sanctuary - Look forward to fellowship, creative Bible studies, food and fun!

A word for graduates

Congratulations to the young members of our congregation who are graduating! No doubt they look forward to the next phase of their lives with excitement, anticipation and perhaps a little apprehension.
We hope these words, adapted from Phillips Brooks, will serve graduates well as they embark on their journeys:

             “Do not pray for an easy life; pray to be a stronger person. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers but for powers equal to your tasks. Then the doing of your work shall be no miracle, but you will be the miracle. Every day you shall wonder at yourself and the richness of life which has come to you by the grace of God.”

     SHYG - is for all high school students and their friends on Tuesday 7-8 p.m.  Bring your friends for some diggin' in the Word that will pump you up for the week!
